With the compressor off, the gauge of the kit will display the tire inflation pressure.Firmly screw the air compressor hose onto the valve stem by turning clockwise.Remove the valve cap from the tire valve.Note: If you experience any unusual vibration, ride disturbance, or noise while driving, reduce your speed until you can safely pull off to the side of the road to call for roadside assistance at 80.īack to Top Second Stage: Checking the tire pressure After 4 mi (6 km), stop and check the tire pressure.Drive the vehicle 3.7 mi (6 km) to distribute the sealant evenly inside the tire.The kit will be required again when you check the tire pressure after driving the vehicle a short distance. Make sure the kit, the bottle lid, and the orange cap are stored safely in your vehicle.Replace the valve cap on the tire valve. Do not remove the sealant bottle from the compressor. Unscrew the hose from the tire valve and put the protective cap back in place.Remove the power plug from the 12-volt power point.Note: If the tire inflation pressure does not reach 26 psi (180 kPa) within 15 minutes, the tire may have suffered.Move the compressor switch to the OFF position and check the current tire pressure with a pressure gauge. Inflate the tire for no longer than 15 minutes to an inflation pressure of a minimum of 26 psi (1.8 bar) and a maximum of 51 psi (3.5 bar).Plug the 12 volt DC power point connector into the 12 volt DC socket in the vehicle. Pull the protective cap from the hose. Fasten the hose to the tire valve by turning the connector clockwise.Make sure that the compressor switch is in the OFF position and the pressure release valve is closed by turning it fully clockwise.Remove the valve cap from the damaged tire.Do not loosen the bottle as the sealant could escape. Note: Attaching the sealant bottle to the compressor pierces the seal.Screw the sealant bottle clockwise into the bottle holder unit fully tight.Do not remove or puncture the seal on the bottle. Pull out the hose and the power plug with cable from beneath the kit.Place it on the top of the instrument panel or the center of the dash.Remove the warning label showing the maximum permissible speed of 50 mph (80 km/h) from the side of the compressor.Leave the engine running in a well-ventilated area.Park your vehicle in a safe area, away from moving traffic.See your authorized dealer for replacement sealant canisters.įirst Stage: Reinflating the tire with sealing compound and air The temporary mobility kit contains enough sealant compound in the canister for one tire repair only. Where to get replacement sealant canisters Only seal punctures located within the tire tread with the kit. Warning: Do not use the kit if you have severely damaged a tire.
